Did any one else notice you couldn’t get logged on after 12pm Friday? By Saturday it had been resolved. For some reason this morning I poked my head into chat and noticed a message from BD saying that the chat had been reset. I’m guessing it may have been contributing to the issues. What ever it was I’m glad we are all safe now.

I can only guess this caused Bob several hours of frustration that he could have used for other things, and for that we must thank him. Thanks for keeping the best large scale site running great Bob! It really is appreciated.

Randy, my home computer did a massive update to Winders tin, ah, Windows 10, at around the same time. So. maybe the site went down for a server software update.

Yeah Victor and I got the same message ‘Can’t find Server’. He said it happened again to him last nite, but I didn’t notice it. We share a time zone, but aren’t near each other.

I had changed my anti virus progs and thought it was me, until he confirmed it was there too.

i saw a problem too…on this and the 7/8th forum thought it was just our interwebs having an issue

The site was down for me too on Friday and most of Saturday.

You want to know what happened…It was the CHAT Revolution!!! The chat regulars better known as the Cabal of Live Interaction attempted to take over the forum. We planned and schemed for months. Planting invitations to all of you Who’s in Whoville to come join in, luring unsuspecting regulars and irregulars to the den of propaganda where your minds could be melded into something useful. Then at the height of opportunity we sprang the trap. Sleeper cells awoke, enemy agents performed their assigned tasks and the new forum order came forth…

We would have gotten away with it too if it had not been for those meddling kids and their stupid dog.

Actually the site is STILL “twitchy”. Three times this morning…on both a PC and a Mac. Says it can’t find the server.

Saw same denial of service up here, too. Figured it was another attack on major u.s. based servers.

Even today it seemed to chug a bit and seemingly refused to reply to a PM. (ooops to send a PM still times out as unsuccessful at 1245mtn)

The internet is suffering outages, and has since Friday morning.

Depending on where the ‘red boxes’ in that report are between you and the server farm LSC is hosted on, you may have issues.

And if youre a visual kind of person, you can use this site. I’ve hilighted the Level 3 outages (which appear for me on the Health Report), so you see what areas of the country are impacted.

Well, It seems I should just read the news before I go jumping to wrong conclusions. Seems a bit scary how fragile the internet seems to be in this country recently. We like to think that the internet is a giant self-healing many-to-many network (since that’s how it was originally designed), but in reality we’re a very fragile lattice of single connections. One backbone starts to have issues, and much of what we take for granted is inaccessible.
