At the risk of returning to the subject at hand, how do you plan on coloring that cement to look like rock?

Thanks I needed it today, they beat me up good! Too much to say here, but one step forward and 2 back, report goes to the cancer board and I'm off 6 months between CT scans  for 3...

Color cement ... remember my curved arches mission? It's a hot pink, hold the hot. Yep Cement All

I use stucco tints and I get 40 pound bags of CementAll. Years ago I bought a mud mixer, goes in my 1/2" drill. Dry wall mud settles and they mix it for uniformity. I use it to dry mix my tint in the powder. I have a screw top 5 gal bucket, came with pool chlorine tabs ... hold 40# of cement. Doesn't take much tint as they come in primary color. When the cement goes from green to white I get pastels.

Former ocean sand is tan... so are the hills, scrub growth adds the texture as well as cactus...

In honor of my new ----x--- I've named the mountain er hill Lumpy.

I like this method, in a vague way it reminds me of the old Ferro Cement boats ....

After the holidays I'll address the lump.

In previous pictures it was hard to see the size. Thanks for posing a car next to it. Pretty good volume of lumpiness you have going there. Have fun with it!

You're welcome, that's a 4 board gon in 1:24... ol' Lumpy seemed to shrink further when I resized pics for here. I'm thinking of a 2' caldera with an open face mine, dropping to a plateau for the old smelter ... uh oh I'm imagineering out loud  .... The next hill of lump will be 3-4' if I'm inspired. My little set back has robbed me of energy, not big ideas.

      Updates...

      1. Lucky for you guys I couldn't find a suitable pic showing multiples of leaky bandages on each hand, wickedly springy!

The Lumpy one has grown. As seen there is now an open air quarry on it's back. Unfinished, a trowel sits in the depression. A mine entrance is just being covered and the footprint for the smelter is being developed, just the mesh so far...

      Lumpy is about 2' tall.

Home Despot has a new check out system that can't read the bar codes on the tints ... Freebies! sort of; the 55 lbs bag of cement and 20' of wicked mesh is $52. I'm on my 3rd bag and roll.

      2. Medical for the 3 who care; My doctor is thorough and one of the best... my case goes back to the cancer board Dec 11, in the meantime I will have a Brain MRI and another CT scan, to be scheduled.

      Yes, I know; what brain?

      Sean,

I read your post quickly the first time and I thought I read "donor" instead of "doctor". Whew!

I don't want to mess up the thread... youtube, can't do with embedded code or the short link or long link... I'll go to the testing forum...

I tried to embed the link from Young Frankenstein...   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9Pw0xX4DXI   ... doing exactly what worked before. There's something inconsistent here.
