Large Scale Central

Railroad Logo

A lot of members have their railroad logo as their avatar. I thought it would be nice to have one for my railroad.

I made it with scupley premo and used Liquitex modeling paste for texture with acrylic paint.

Cool!

Nice looking logo, Jim.

Jim that’s pretty cool. Would make a neat herald for locos or . . .

Thanks Ray, and Dan, and Devon

Nice! I like that you did it “old school” rather than designing it on a computer like most of us.

Thanks Daktah.

I did use a computer to edit the photo, but making the logo was fun.

I can assume by the theme that this is a south western road. I can picture that painted on an adobe station wall.

Something about like this next to the rails with that logo hand painted on the wall would just be too cool.

Yeah that would be cool. Nice building do you know where it is located?

Nope just some random picture I found when I googled Adobe stations.

Near Station or Gross Kelly Warehouse something like that in Santa Fe NM.

If your browser is Google Chrome you can right-click on a picture and select “Search Google for image” from the drop-down.

This is one of the results - http://www.americansouthwest.net/new_mexico/santa_fe/sfbuilding_l.html - though not much more information than Devon found.

I’m pretty sure that’s on Ray’s railroad. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)If it’s not, it will be soon.

Love the logo!

Later,

K

Thanks guys. I’m already thinking about “Logo 2.0”.

Very nice Jim! I have to second the kudos for making it IRL.

Eventually, once my foundry is done, I plan to take my digital version and make it real!

Jim… Nice job… Are you going to also use them on your rolling stock?

We have done the same by taking a photo and had buttons made up at Button Works here in Sacramento. They will take any photo and add Text to it any way you like. We take the buttons photo off the button sometimes and resize them for our rolling stock or Eng’s.

Here are two of the button we had made up that we also give out to our train guys that run on our layout.

You should already have ours… I think.

Once in a while we also use them as avatars

I might use them on some non-C&S rolling stock that get repainted.

Does anyone know where I got the idea for the Chuparosa & Southern RR? Hint: It’s not from Ray Dunakin’s desert exploration.

Is it the latest authentic Mexican dish from Taco Bell? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

No, but now I’m getting hungry for some authentic Mexican food!

Authentic Mexican food ≠ Taco Bell
