Odd Grain car Graffitti

Saw this on a siding in Lexington. Got to find another on my phone to up load.

Here’s another odd one:

One thing that I have found interesting is that some of these “artists” are now making sure to either not cover or paint in the road names and car numbers and protecting the car data. Is there honor among taggers. I wish I could find it again but there was an article on a short line that held competitions for artists to tag their cars. The made sure all the markings were left in tact and provided the paint. They said that the savings was two fold. They no longer need to spend money defeating taggers and got free labor for keeping the cars painted. they even let them tag a loco. If you can’t beat 'em, then let them work for you for free.

Well, maybe the taggers learned that if they cover up the data their "artwork " gets painted over quicker then if they leave the data in tact.

Thats probably closer to the truth.

But hey, that’s a beautiful lifetime dauber!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Yeah, I’ve read that also, if the numbers are clear they leave them alone.

John, you like it? I got it at the dollar store. I forget what I paid for it, but it wasn’t much.

A dollar?

Andrew, could be. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

When I as growing up, in the 70’s, I don’t remember rail-car graffiti being quite as colourful.

It is funny seeing how some go about this!

Well, for the railroad, it is a free paint job…

I don’t know where these taggers find the time. I’ve got a whole pile of g gauge stuff to paint and decal that I never find enough time for. These guys are painting real rolling stock in their spare time.

These degenerates have nothing but time, that’s the the problem. They don’t work, they don’t go to school, they don’t have any responsibility.

Good point. Too bad they don’t work in “G” scale! I’ve got tons of stuff they could finish.

I wonder if we can get 1:29 krylon cans and let them go to work.

Devon, no thanks. I want cars that, well, don’t offend.

Some of this stuff is actually really good art…
