Can anyone tell me the difference between Aristocraft 55498 and 55499 Train Engineer fans? I want to get a couple of spare fans but I do not know the difference. The description said that it will fit Crest Onboard Train Engineer. Is that the same as ART-5471 Walk Around Control System? Thanks.

The 55499 (a large over 3 inch square fan) is used on the 27mhz black plastic receiver for when more than 5 amps (per the manual) or the update from Lewis suggesting over 3 amps it should be used. I have 3 of these uniots and all have the fan I took from scrap computer power supplies. This is a standard 12 volt computer fan with 2 wires and the socket in the receiver has a LM7812 voltage regulator feeding this socket.

Since the 55498 is listed as an on board fan, it should be for the small on board receivers like the 75 mhz or even the revolution.
