MTH Big Boy Fall Run

Nice fall day for a run with my MTH Big Boy. 20 cars is all, but that was enough for my small layout.

Looks good! (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Great pic Jerry.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Thanks, sure enjoying the MTH engines, gradually been picking them up. I have all 3 steamers and just got a dash 8(it’s smoke lasts a LONG time!). Negotiating for a pair of F3’s. They are Santa Fe, but figure they should look good with some silver D&H cars I have. Lettering is not all that obvious. Stripping them and making them UP would be expensive.

That is a looong train but the big boy can handle it.

The low sun and leaf litter make for nice autumn photos.

Did MTH make a Triplex? Do you have that one too? I’d like to see a video of one of those running.

MTH did do a Triplex. About did the company in, I think. Did not sell well. I don’t have one, seems to awkward to move around out to the track and back. I did make a simple carrier for the Big Boy engine. Did one for the Challenger, but it also has the tender on it, so is heavier. Need to change that!

Wheels straddle the strip in the middle, so you are pushing it out on the flanges , not the tread.

I did replace the small bungee cords with Velcro strips, they don’t stretch out!
