Posting a picture...again

A second try.

Rich,

  1. Bring up the box for posting.

  2. In the top row of things to click on, about the middle, there is a box with what appears to be a mountain. Put your cursor over that, and you will find that it is for inserting an image.

  3. Click on that and a new box appears.

  4. Put the link to your jpg in the first box. Make sure that the link to the jpg has no spaces, rename it if necessary. The software doesn’t like spaces.

  5. Click ok

  6. Enjoy your work.

Thanks Steve, I’ll give it a try again…after more coffee. Guess I’m dense. Not clear about the link thing, but I’ll figure it out.

Which browser are you using?

With firefox I open the pic and then right click on the pic. In the multiple guess box, I use Copy Image Location. Go back to thread…

Mtn w/ sun icon, click it, right click in new box on top line/space, Paste link then click OK

After pic shows up, I need to place cursor to right of pic and key Enter which places cursor below the pic. Using Backspace deletes it.

To display a picture the link should basically read like this http://www.xxxxxx.xxx/xxxx.jpg; that means the “http://www.xxxxxx.xxx/” is the Internet address where the picture is stored — not on your computer!

The “xxxx.jpg” is the actual picture - it could also be png, tif, bmp or a number of other graphic formats. Please note: no spaces (use underscore "_ " instead) assures that the browsers don’t get the hiccups. I went and saw your first try, it did open for me, but only because you are online.

As Hans said;

It needs to live online where it can be accessed 24/7 When you joined, Bob gave you a small Freight Shed for pics, see Top of Page header between Folders and Members. When you click it it opens a new tab. Upload your pics there and then open them one at a time and follow the instructions to right click save and paste…

We’ll get you going.

John

Thanks Rich, I saw your note and I do need to update a couple things.

One of the most important things is what Hans mentioned. When you upload your pictures make sure they are one name with no spaces or an underscore. When you open the picture in Freight Shed the initial location for the picture is incomplete. You have to click on the location you see to get the full location to copy. After you copy this go to the Forum and write your message.

After you write the message click on the graphic that shows a mountain and paste that Freight Shed location into Source. That used to be a pine tree and you pasted it into URL location.

Thanks guys. I’ll figure it out. Gotta figure out the Internet thing.
