I just purchased a LGB 41229 Gondola with a Steiff Teddy Bear. I bought the car to add to my under the Christmas Tree layout. I know some people collect Steiff animals I was wondering if these cars will ever be valuable as collectibles. Does anyone here collect these cars and I believe engines?

In this case keep them together, the bear will gain value if his car is with him. Like original packaging, accessories are valuable when included, on their own; not so much.

Just because something is out of production does not make it valuable. Just old(er). But keep them together and in their original box. Oh, and don’t run it where it will show wear and use.
Train collectors are not really train people. They are collectors and only attach value to something which has never been used. IMHO.
Chances are if you buy a set of replacement wheels and run it around the Christmas tree, you’ll be able to sell it at a good price … in 10 or 20 years. This is a “only produced in 2014” item which may or may not hold or increase in value. Just like Dick mentioned, collectors look at those things from a completely different perspective.
