A Build Log Index for the J&B

There has been some discussion in a few of the topics about finding old stuff; especially for the newer people here.

While I can’t create an index listing all of the neat projects I’ve seen over the last ten years, I thought I could at least create an article that listed some of the build logs that I have done.

I probably missed a few, but I’ll add them in as I remember them.

So, trying to not seem TOO egotistical, here’s the article: http://www.largescalecentral.com/articles/150/a-build-log-index-for-the-j-b

Thanks, Bruce.

Lot of good reading and nice models. Thanks for this labor of love.

Tom

Great idea Bruce. It not only makes your older stuff easy to find, but makes a great personal reference tool too. I’m always searching out my own old threads to figure out how I did something several years ago. I make follow your lead.

Jon, that’s half the reason I do build logs - so I can “remember” how I did something!

Hope it helps.

Exactly! Even in the middle of a project I’ll go back and review how I said I planned on doing something. It really does help to keep records, and websites like LSC are a great way to keep and share info.

Awesome Bruce. I will have to browse through some of your older stuff.

Nice, good memories just looking back at the Index. Also the reference to the rebuild reminded me of a great discussion on the ride back from McCurdy’s.

You forgot the parlor car build…

Yeah, I couldn’t find that…not sure what happened to it.

Maybe I’ve just lost my search ability…

Thanks for this – after less than a week here, i have already started losing threads that i had been following. Long term projects do benefit from log-keeping.

Your talent for architectural design and modelling is phenomenal – but what my husband also noticed and wanted to pass along, in going through the images, is that your photographic skills have improved measurably over the years. In other words, not only is the “stuff” looking good, the photos are amazing.

I had some time to kill Saturday morning and did my best to find it. I know it’s here; I just can’t get it. Searching Parlor Car finds references in other threads, but not the build. Go any keyword clues that might help next time I have time to kill?

Jon, I’m just hoping somebody has a better memory than I do…

I tried “Azalea”, “Camelia”, “Parlor Car”…

Perhaps I never really built it?

Well, that will teach me! I guess I never did do a build log here. Thanks, David.

Dang…can’t find it in the wayback machine either. :frowning:

So, I gotta do two clicks to get the the build log for Camellia? Lord, the things you ask of me.

My cold is doing fine, thanks for asking. I’m not. (http://www.freerails.com/images/emoticons/boohoo.gif)

You can get to the blogspot? I sure can’t…I recall it going away quite some time ago…

I thought I could. I got as far as the “You can’t go any farther without giving us your first born,” page. Since he is already occupied in the Navy, I was stymied, and couldn’t go any further.

great workmanship bruce
