Ok while looking for structures for the Port Lavender Terminal Railroad , I ran across the Clever Models website. There were lotd of reallly cool designs, and have been sold as complete kits. Now they have a lot of stuff for download, so i risked $11 and bought the Peach cannery as a download. im planning on using the structure as a small regional brewery. I printed this out on cardstock from Walmart, and the only tools need were a steel straightedge, some Xacto Knives, some markers for edgework, and some glue. I started cutting this morning and got this far this evening…
Nice work Bart! Those things look pretty darn good
I’ll have to check that out. The Salida & Western could use a few buildings.
Cool!
Very nice. What format do they supply the print files in? Wondering if they could be scaled.
Pdfs…so of course where theres a will…theres a way…
True - But it would loose some quality when enlarged. Maybe I should write to them. The already do O so stepping up to 1:24 would be easy.
I bit the bullet and ordered four different buildings, 2 of which are flats…
Product: O Scale Royal ImportsFlat
Product: O Scale Wood Warehouse Flat
Product: O Scale Plant #2
Product: O Scale Jefferson Ice Co.
Ive got plant no2 on disc as well…have been eyeballing the flats too. Theres also a disk that has all sorts of textures and doors and windows and such as well…
So some progress has been made, the last three walls were assembled…

Heres a shot of the extra bracing I installed inside to keep the three walls square…

Heres the structure in the position I originally intended…Im not sure if it will go here or not…

The roof went on this afternoon, still not sure on the location…had a what if idea with water reservoir…wont use THAT tower but i set it there to see what it woukd look like…

I kinda like it how it stands with that tower…location of your choice but I like the water tower
Just my thought’s
Bart?? As much as I hate to, I have to agree with the kid… I think it looks much better with the tank tower…
Yeah…its gonna get a tank…but one with a roof on it…cant have Rooster Poop in the final product…or can we? rooster Poop Ale? Hmmmmmmmm?

So after spending a couple hours fabricating that loading dock door…I had a better idea. Its hard to model a convincing loading dock scene, with the door shut…so I cut the door out and installed a shadowbox made from black cardstock…

Use part of the door and some cardstock textures to pull off the illusion…

neat idea, bart…
very convincing Bart. Really looking good
Great idea. If you can find a few props for clutter it will be even better
It’s hard to model a convincing loading dock scene without the loading dock, too, Bart.
