New 1:20.32 scale figure in the works

I just started working on this figure of Napii. He worked on the OR&L and the figure is based on a photo of him posing with the crew of engine number 70. Right now I have him roughed in. The next step is to complete the details and then work on his likeness.

Aaaahh…your holding out on us with the worlds tallest man(background) in 1:20 scale aren’t you.

He’s about 3.625 inches tall.

I meant the legs in the background

Nice to see 7/8ths hasn’t stolen all of your time. This will be another great addition to your 1:20 collection.

Oh, sorry. Thats a resin figure I bought off ebay. I use it to study anatomy. I primed it and drew the superficial muscle groups on it. I’m slowly painting them in place, but it servers as a guide.

Did some work on the likeness today. I still have 1:20.32 scale models, so I’m not giving up on that scale. I’m just starting out in 7-8ths

This is the best I can do, so I’m giving up. I think I will sculpt it in 7-8ths so I can really nail the likeness. He’s available for pre order at the low price of 6 USD. The price will go up after the 11th. http://scalehumans.com/orderform?preorder

Just 3.5 hours left to pick up this figure for 6 bucks. After midnight PDT the price goes up to 8 bucks.

Well,
Looks like I missed out on the “sale” =(
The figure looks great, to me.
Keep up the good work.
I need lots of figures. Keep meaning to go to your site and place an order.
Life keeps getting in the way.
But, hopefully soon
Ralph

Sorry about that Ralph. You should book mark my preorder page and check in once or twice a month. I have been releasing figures about 1 x per month for the last year. I put them on that page and give people a two week opportunity to help me finance the molds and get figures cheaper at the same time.

Just finished painting the bugger

Excellent work, as usual! Very nice! Great detail in the boots, BTW.

Painted, he looks a bit like Adrian Monk – though Monk would never be caught dead in disheveled overalls.

“though Monk would never be caught dead in disheveled overalls.”

He would as Tech Sgt Chen in the funny SciFi movie Galaxie Quest. I agree Ray. The figure looks like actor Tony Shaloob. Just a happy coincidence, but kinda’ cool nevertheless.

Best,
David Meashey

This figure is another masterpiece Richard. The before and after painting photos show how much detail paint can bring out. Unpainted, I really didn’t think the face was as good as your previous figures. But painted and properly lit, the face comes to life. Thanks, as always, for sharing your work.

I agree! Forgot too add nice work Richard

Thanks guys. I feel like I’m starting to improve in figure making and in painting. So many good modelers in this forum and the others I belong to, I’m always getting inspiration and ideas and I think that shows in my new work.
