On another forum (concerns itself with layout design ;)) a member is contemplating an N-scale layout with a Southern Mountain theme. The space is a given (restricted), the druthers are: double track main to keep the trains a-rolling. mining operations industries engine service facility and here is what I would do with those parameters. In N-scale there is a 5.5" height difference between lowest and highest.

Given the track arrangement and the popularity of running them in circles this has possibilities in LS, too. More on that later.

Wellll tac, if the guy has x space and a specific theme in a specific scale … then one tries what can and will fit. And makes sure that it can be built and the scenery will work to suit the theme. BTW the "frantic"track complications have all a specific purpose.
