Large Scale Central

My second 7/8ths scale figure

Mark Twain was a type setter, a journalist, a steamboat pilot, a miner and a writer. I thought he would make a great addition to any mining operation, wandering around the layout and taking notes for his next short story.

Excellent - as always

I started painting the figure today. Still needs some work, but its getting there. I left the lapels on the casting broad on purpose so I could carve them to the time period I like. I noticed that mens suits really haven’t changed to much in a hundred years. The lapels and the cut of the pants change, sometimes the length of the jacket, and ties, but they generally look a like. I sculpted the painted figure with my interpretation of riverboat gamblers lapel.

Has he got inkstains on his fingers and thumb?

Yep, and around his fingernails where he tried to wash the ink off.

Wow! Impressive likeness!
