At white Rock, there is a retail oil depot (backwards....like John Allen's switching puzzle), house track for the station, and Retail Lumber outlet at the far end of the spur past the station. Plus a long passing siding.

(not to scale, but fairly close, close enough for government work)

As I recall, there are two tankers parked on the siding at Retail Oil, and two boxcars at retail lumber. The siding at retail lumber is plenty long for the two boxcars parked there, but just a smidge too short for two boxcars, a locomotive and tender (or even a climax), plus the two tankers. The house track has just enough room for either the two tankers or the two boxcars. Is this correct? Is there anything that I’ve missed?

Not quite, the passing siding is on the outside (bottom of your drawing) and the house track should come off the Mainline (labeled Passing Siding on your drawing) seperately not off the siding to the Oil and Lumber retailers. I have found the lumber siding plenty long enough for the two flats that are usally at the lumber retailer (not boxcars) and have room for a locomotive and two tanks but I haven’t tried it with a tender that I recall. You are correct the house track is very short.

Well, I got it wrong, but in my defense, so did Horowitz. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks, John

Your revised drawing looks good. I couldn’t find any photos of White Rock. Seems they all went away when my hard drive crashed last year!? If I go htts Friday I’ll try and take some new ones and post them.
John

That would be great! Thanks.

Here you can really see how long the siding is.
