That's why so few people do board by board construction. But for realistic detail, it can't be beat.

So where does that put the guys that hand lay track Maynard?

    • I can certainly appreciate the effort it takes to stick build any structure and as David pointed out, the detail cannot be beat.  Especially if there is a way to show the framing in the completed structure.

    • One thing I had to do is make the exhaust stacks a little longer than my original pictures, to make sure I had clearance on the roof. The kit is designed around a 1" plumbing pipe which makes splicing them easy.

    • Well i have been working on an indoor layout for about 4 years of and on. I have been so busy making things for other people i have not done much work lately. Early on i bought a laser cut engine house scaled up from an o scale model. It did not look very scale to me. But i has set here for years. So i finally decided to build one from scratch. First picture is the old one..

Wow, those wood hoppers are quite small! But nice

Yes they are. As an 1800's narrow gauge prototype car it was very small. I can get away with it because my railroad is an operating museum line of both CO and PA narrow gauge equipment of all eras.

It's YOUR RR you can do what ever you want.
